Hundreds staged a march in Efrîn’s Rajo district calling for an immediate visit to İmralı where Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan is held in aggravated isolation.
The march from Healthcare Center continued until Newroz Square and demonstrators chanted slogans for the freedom of the Kurdish leader.
SHERA AND MEYDANKÊ
Thousands of people joined a march in Efrîn’s Shera and Meydankê districts in protest at the isolation on Öcalan and Turkey’s invasion threats against Efrîn Canton.
Demonstrators carried flags of YPG (People’s Defense Units) and TEV-DEM (Movement for a Democratic Society) and images of Öcalan, and chanted slogans demanding an immediate end to the isolation on the Kurdish leader.
The march continued through villages till the Meydankê Lake.
In a speech after the march, Efrîn Canton Administrative Council Co-president Osman Şêx Hesen condemned the aggravated isolation imposed upon Öcalan.
