People of Girke Lege march against Turkish occupation and attacks

Protests against the occupation and attacks of the Turkish army continue increasingly.

Women’s umbrella organization Kongreya Star promoted a demonstration In Girke Lege district of Qamishlo in protest at the Turkish state’s crimes against the peoples of North and East Syria and imprisonment of HDP deputies in North Kurdistan.

Residents of the district joined a rally at the Martyr Xebat Derik Square, displaying banners which read “No to the violation of freedom” and “We will defeat occupation with the will of free women”.

Speaking here, Kongreya Star Coordination member Rihan Temo called on everyone to manifest their reaction against the Turkish state’s inhuman attacks such as abduction, rape and imprisonment of women.

Rihan also condemned the removal from parliament and imprisonment of deputies of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) in Turkey, describing the genocidal campaign against the Kurdish people and their elected representatives as a manifestation of the fascism perpetrated by the Turkish state.
