People of Manbij take to the streets in solidarity with Efrîn

People of Manbij held a demonstration to protest the attacks of the Turkish state on Efrîn and Shehba.

Following the call of the Commitee for Youths and Sports to protest the invasion attacks of the Turkish state on Efrîn, hundreds of people from Manbij assembled at the Kure El-Erdiyê Crossroad from where they started their protest march.

The march was joined by co-chairs and deputy chairs of Manbij Executive and Legislative Assemblies, members of local commitees, military and civil institutions, as well as a delegation from the Youths and Sports Council from Cizirê Canton.

The mass marched to the Manbij Town Square, holding pictures of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and placards and banners which saluted the resistance mounted by the people of Efrîn and condemned the invasion efforts of the Turkish state. Flags of the Arabic Youth's Movement, Manbij Military Council, Domestic Security Forces and Manbij Women's Council were filling the scene with colors.

Slogans as "Down with the Turkish invasion", "We are by heart and soul with you Efrîn", and "We are one, the Syrian people are united" have been chanted until the mass reached the Town Square where statements were read out.

Farûq El-Maşî held a speech in the name of the Democratic Civilian Administration of Manbij and its Surroundings, in which he condemned the attacks of the Turkish state. He stated that they will never accept Efrîn as a part of Syria to be occupied, and continued, "We the people of Manbij are with Efrîn, they are our brethren. Manbij itself never got free from the attacks and terror of the AKP."

Farûq El-Maşî stressed on the project which the AKP undertakes in the region since before, and said: "The AKP's project in the region means support for ISIS and the resurging of the Ottoman era".

Co-chair of Cizirê Canton Youths and Sports Council, Hemrîn Elî, Co-chair of Manbij Youth's and Sports Commitee, Sozan Salih, and Meha Elî as one of the administrators of Manbij Women's Council as well, held afterwards speeches in which they condemned the attacks of the Turkish state on Efrîn and Shehba and corroborated the absolute commitment of the elements of Northern Syria to struggle as one against invasion attacks.

Shams Al Shamal Brigades Commander Mihemed Ebû Adil spoke the final words of the protest march and vowed that: "We all will serve ourselves as shields for Efrîn. As Raqqa is being liberated by us, we will resist in Efrîn like we did in Kobanê."

The demonstration ended afterwards with chants of slogans and revolutionary songs.
