People visit graves of martyrs in North-East Syria on Eid al-Fitr

In northern and eastern Syria, people visit the graves of martyrs in the morning on the occasion of the Ramadan bairam.

On the occasion of the Ramadan holiday, people in northern Syria visit cemeteries in the morning to commemorate the martyrs. They lay flowers on the countless graves of people who died in the fight against the ISIS.

In Aleppo, people from the self-governing neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud (Şêxmeqsûd) and Ashrafiyah (Eşrefiye) flocked to the cemetery of martyrs. During the jihadists' attempt to capture the self-administered neighborhoods, many members of the Self-Defense Forces had died. The relatives were received at the cemetery by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and the Social Defense Forces (HPC).

Representatives of the Council of Martyrs’ Families greeted the people and wished a happy bairam. Speeches stressed that the struggle and resistance would continue. Afterwards, people visited the graves of the martyrs and laid roses. Then the holiday was celebrated together and sweets were distributed to the children.
