Preparation for mid-term exam in North and East Syria

Following the end of the first semester of the school year, preparation for the final exams are underway in Northern and Eastern Syria.

Approximately 835,764 students from primary, middle and high schools are preparing for the half-year exam in Northern and Eastern Syria.

With the establishment of the Autonomous Administration after the success of the 19 July Revolution, the Democratic Society Education Committee set up in 2015. Since then it prepared course materials as well training for teachers and staff in Arabic, Kurdish and Syriac languages ​​in the region.

Education in Northern and Eastern Syria

In 5,172 schools in villages, districts and cities liberated by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Northern and Eastern Syria, students receive education in their mother tongue.

The Democratic Society Education Committee appointed 42,335 teachers to provide training throughout the region. The Committee also established education committees to supervise educational activities in 7 administrative districts in Northern and Eastern Syria.

984 schools need repair

Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration Education Committee Co-Chair Recep Musrif told ANHA that 984 schools have been damaged during the invasion of the DAESH in the regions and need repair and restoration. Despite the difficulties of the current situation and the new threats issued by Turkey, the Autonomous Administration is continuing to provide services. 

Musrif said that they are trying to reform these schools and make them ready for the new education period.
