PYD marks the tenth anniversary of Rojava Revolution

PYD congratulated the peoples of North-East Syria, the peoples of the Middle East and the world on the tenth anniversary of the July 19 revolution.

The General Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) issued a statement on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the July 19 Rojava Revolution, stating the following:

"We congratulate the peoples of North-East Syria, the Middle East and all humanity on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the July 19 Revolution. We also bow in honor and respect in front of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives to achieve a dignified life.

We salute the architect of the democratic revolution, Abdullah Öcalan, and the heroes who are confronting the enemy on the battle fronts.

The July 19 Revolution, which the Kurdish people started in Kobane, is the first torch that lit the path for the Kurdish people and the peoples of the Middle East towards self-confidence and adherence to freedom and democracy.

The revolution proved itself as the best alternative to central oppressive systems and the counter forces of these systems. We are the owners of these lands and we choose our path with our free will, rejecting the middle age atrocities and darkness.

Today, the Turkish occupying state is attacking this social revolution and wants to destroy the gains of our peoples. However, we affirm that we will defend our revolution against any attack through the will and unity of our people just as we have been victorious against the most powerful terrorism in the world, embodied by ISIS,

On this occasion, we call on the democratic and libertarian forces in the world to stand with us against Erdogan’s aggressive ambitions and to stand in solidarity with us for the consolidation and continuity of this revolution, which has become a hope for all of humanity.”
