The wave of people fleeing from the barbarity of the ISIS gangs to the Ayn Îsa Refugee Camp in Girê Spî Canton is unabated, leading to difficulties in regard to the health conditions of the refugees, most of whom are elderly, sick and disabled, due to the lack of means Raqqa's Civil Council suffers from.
The refugees stated that they require aid, in particular medical support and called on humanitarian organisations to fulfil their duties.
Refugee Hesina Naif, a 60-year-old woman from Deir ez-Zor, who is suffering from cardiac disease, needs to undergo an operation. Hevsina, her husband and her son fled to the Ayn Îsa Refugee Camp 6 days ago by paying 450.000 Syrian Lira to smugglers to take them to safe areas. Because of the lack of medical means in the camp, Hesina's health is deteriorating. Hesina called upon humanitarian organisations to send them medical aid.
Refugee Ehmed Eli El-Hisen from Raqqa's al-Amin neighbourhood, a father of 3 daughters and 3 sons, suffered severe injuries on his shoulder and upper arm due to bombardments of ISIS gangs on the neighbourhood, which also resulted in his 12 years old son sustaining damage on his ear.
Ehmed Eli El-Hisen was operated twice in hospital, but his condition did not improve. His financial situation does not allow him to undergo another necessary operation. El-Hisen also called on relief agencies to send them aid.
More than 2500 refugees have sought refuge in the Ayn Îsa Refugee Camp, many of whom are carrying wounds and are in urgent need of medical support.
