The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Military Council held its regular meeting with the participation of the commanders of the Military Councils and representatives from all affiliated military institutions operating in the regions of North and East Syria.
The meeting was attended by the SDF Commander-in-Chief, Mazloum Abdi, along with members of the SDF General Command. The SDF Commander-in-Chief delivered a comprehensive political briefing on the overall situation in Syria, with a particular focus on the conditions in North and East Syria and the challenges facing these regions. He also addressed in detail the agreement reached between the SDF and the Damascus government, as well as the agreement concluded by the General Council in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of Aleppo. He elaborated on the political and military dimensions of these agreements and highlighted the local and international efforts underway to achieve a ceasefire throughout the Syrian territories.
Following this, the commanders of the Military Councils presented the military reports, reviewing key accomplishments and developments within the structure of the councils. The participants also discussed the challenges and obstacles affecting the councils’ performance and engaged with the General Command to explore solutions for overcoming them.
The General Command offered critical feedback on these issues, urging councils’ commanders to address them and adapt to the evolving circumstances in Syria, particularly in the north and eastern regions. It emphasized the importance of intensifying military training and ensuring that the SDF forces are fully prepared to respond to all possible circumstances.
The meeting concluded with the adoption of several decisions at both the organizational and military levels.
