The Press Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) released a statement providing information about the latest actions by their forces and attacks by the Turkish army and allied mercenaries in North-East Syria.
The SDF statement on Sunday includes the following:
“Our fighters continue their legitimate resistance against the attacks by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries in the northern and eastern regions of Syria. On Saturday, our Martyr Haroun Units successfully shot down two Turkish suicide drones near the Tishreen Dam. Meanwhile, Turkish occupation continued bombarding the vicinity of the Dam with heavy artillery throughout Friday night and into Saturday. Turkish occupation warplanes and UCAVs also launched a series of airstrikes targeting the dam’s perimeter, workers’ housing, Syriatel Hill, and the village of Khirbet al-Zamala.
Yesterday, at 11:58 AM, a Turkish suicide drone targeted a gathering of civilians on the dam’s structure, resulting in the martyrdom of the journalist Egîd Roj and injuring several others. The wounded were transported to hospitals for medical treatment.
On the Qereqozak front, our fighters conducted a series of operations targeting Turkish occupation bases and mercenaries at Qereqozak Hill and the occupation base in the village of Al-Hushriya, resulting in confirmed casualties among the occupation ranks.
Meanwhile, Turkish warplanes launched multiple airstrikes on the villages of Al-Tineh and Ghasaq, as well as on Sifi Hill, in conjunction with heavy shelling using artillery, tanks, rockets, and mortars indiscriminately targeted the villages of Al-Tineh, Ja’ada, Bir Hisso, Ghasaq, Dekan, Malha, and Al-San’a, as well as the Saifi Hill and Qereqozak Hill. The bombardments caused significant damage to civilian homes and properties.
Additionally, Turkish warplanes continued their attacks on the countryside of Kobani, striking the town of Shekhler (Al-Shuyoukh) west of the city, leading to property destruction. Turkish occupation UCAVs continued the reconnaissance flights over the region.
The airspace over Ain Issa and its countryside also witnessed intensive Turkish warplane and UCAVs activity.”
