The second congress of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) Aleppo branch ended was held under the slogan “We will liberate Afrin, we will build democratic and decentralised Syria”.

Speaking at the congress, TEV-DEM Executive Council Member Hesen Koçer commemorated Şehit Şîlan Kobanê and her 4 comrades who were murdered on 29 November 2014 in Mosul.

Noting that all plans devised and implemented to destroy the identity and culture of the Kurdish people have been defeated, Koçer said that after the success of the Rojava Revolution, the conspirators had changed their politics and imposed special methods of warfare and tried to plant seeds of sedition among the peoples.

Hesen Koçer added that all the people taking part in the Epochal Resistance in Afrin stood against the invaders and beside the fighters.

“The mothers of Afrin have never stepped back, - he said - despite the fact that their children were martyred before their eyes. And they did not step back because they are bound to their land.”

Noting that one of the main issues of the congress was Syria's territorial and people integrity, Koçer said: “This congress is not just a slogan. In order to be ready to fight back the conspiracies intended to be developed for Syrian peoples, we must organise. Because a non organized society is doomed to collapse”.

TEV-DEM Executive underlined the fact that the people should not believe in external powers and emphasized that the Rojava Revolution was carried out with this in mind and for this big achievements were reached.

Following the speeches at the congress, evaluations were made about the political process and the organization works.

The congress ended with the agreement on some decisions:

* Activities aimed at organising will continue. Our primary aim is to achieve the removal of the regime of isolation imposed on Kurdish people's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and to liberate Afrin.

* Work and activities will be carried out to increase the party's role in the institutions and offices in the region.

* Work will be carried out to strengthen the ideology of party cadres and to improve the role of women and youth in the party.

* Press work will be developed in all fields and good relations with all political parties will be established.

* The achievements of the peoples of Northern and Eastern Syria will be protected.

* With the support of Aydın and other institutions, we will open a library offering the books written by Abdullah Öcalan.

The Congress ended with the election of 10 executives to the office administration.
