The Defense Councils of Northern Syria regions made a joint statement at Heseke Stadium in solidarity with the resistance of Afrin, with the presence of some two thousand self-defense fighters as well as Kobanê Canton Defense Council Co-president İsmet Şex Hesen, Cizire Canton Defense Council Co-president Xalsa Hesen, Self-Defense Commander General Siyabend Welat and self-defense commanders.

The statement, read in Kurdish by Redur Isa and in Arabic by Şilan Selam, stressed that self-defense forces are ready for the defense of Afrin and will not allow the Turkish state to invade Northern Syria land.

The statement said; “Our fighters have gained great victories in all areas against the inhuman gangs that receive support from Erdoğan. We made a promise for freedom. Victory is ours because we are right and because we, too, have a right to free life. We promised to sacrifice our blood for our freedom.  

Erdoğan’s advanced technical and military equipment do not frighten, but on the contrary strengthen us.

As Defense and Self-Defense Forces of Northern Syria regions, we announce our people and the public opinion that we are ready to defend Afrin. Our people are not alone. They struggle to live freely in their lands. We warn Erdoğan, the fire he is playing with will burn him! Victory is of our people and defeat is of the AKP government!”

Fighters of self-defense forces emphasised that they will take part in the defense of Afrin with all their might and will not allow Erdoğan and his gangs to invade Afrin and Northern Syria.

Speaking after, Cizire Canton Defense Council Co-president Xalsa Hesen said; “Just like we defended Afrin against ISIS gangs, we will defend it against invading Erdoğan’s army and gangs as well, and repel their attacks.”

Kobanê Canton Defense Council Co-president İsmet Şex Hesen also said that they will resist in Afrin like they resisted in Kobanê. He underlined that they will defeat Erdoğan’s army of gangs with a spirit of resistance.

Şex Hesen ended his speech by calling on all the youth abroad to turn back to their land and defend it.
