ISIS mercenaries launched an intensified attack on the positions of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) near Mahata train station in Hajin town of Deir ez-Zor Thursday evening.

Hundreds of ISIS members took part in the aggression in which tanks and heavy weaponry were used.

SDF forces retaliated the attack, resulting in fierce clashes that lasted for hours.

While the attack was repelled in the wake of heavy fighting, many ISIS members were killed and at least one tank of theirs was destroyed.

Taking advantage of the sand storm in the region, ISIS groups have intensified their attacks in recent days in an attempt to impede the advance of SDF forces.
