The operation launched on September 10 by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to liberate the ISIS occupied Hajin town in Deir ez-Zor continues.

The fighters are continuing the operation to liberate the last town to the Northeast of the Euphrates River that is still under occupation, despite the bad weather, while the peoples of Northern and Eastern Syria continue to support the fighters in every way like they have done since the beginning of the revolution.

Citizens from all walks of life among the Northern and Eastern Syrian peoples support the fighters behind the fronts greatly and contribute to the operations to clear their lands of gangs.

People working in the auto industry founded behind the frontlines in Hajin are repairing vehicles for the SDF. Motor expert Mihemed Hemo has been involved in the operations for a long time, and says they support the revolution through their profession.

Hemo said he participated in several SDF operation before and added: “The vehicles used in the operations break down fast, and it is very costly and time consuming to send every one of them to the city center to be repaired. So, here behind the frontlines we set up this repair shop and we fix the vehicles here.”

Hemo added that he often goes to the frontmost lines to repair vehicles: “This is a war. We participate in it this way. Fighters fight with weapons, teachers with their pens, we fight with our profession.”

Hemo said he visits his family in Rimêlan in the Cizirê Canton every 2 weeks when the clashes are not very intense, and that he is always ready to go in his repair shop when the battle gets heated.

A young man named Necirvan Hesen said he has worked in a repair shop for 7 years, and he has worked in the repair shop set up behind the frontlines for the SDF for the last year.

Necirvan Hesen said he also did his military service: “We are also completing our military service here, and we take part in the operations with our fighters. Vehicles are extremely important in operations, so I can say that they carry most of the weight. That is why they break down quick.”

Necirvan wants to work with the SDF after his military service is done, and adds that he would be happy knowing that he contributes to the revolution and the freedom of the country.

ISIS gangs declared a so called caliphate after they invaded Mosul in 2014, and after they spread throughout Syria and invaded Raqqa changed their name and claimed that they declared a state.

With the liberation of Hajin town, ISIS gangs will be completely cleared of the northern arc of the Euphrates River for the first time since 2014.
