Hundreds of thousands of Afrin residents took refuge in Shehba, a war-torn region which was recently liberated from ISIS. Local authorities are trying to help the refugees despite lack of resources.
As a part of these efforts, a tent city for refugees is being set up in Ferfine area near Wehshiye village.
Faysal Abdo is working to build the tents with a group of volunteers. According to Abdo, there will be a thousand tents in the camp, and with a collective effort, it will be set up soon.
The officials say no aid has been received from the United Nations for people of Afrin.
Arif Emin, a refugee from Afrin, said that they only received support from Shehba, Cizire and Kobane regions.
“We will return to Afrin one day, maybe six months or one year from now. We won’t leave Afrin to the Turkish state” he said.
