The Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) blamed Russia and the International Coalition for the Turkish drone attack that targeted a civilian vehicle in Kobanê on October 20, claiming the life of two civilians.
In a written statement published today, TEV-DEM said, “We hold Russia and the International Coalition responsible, which do not interfere with Turkey's terrorism.”
“The invading Turkish state which pursues wrong policies and has failed in its attempts to invade the region keeps threatening north-eastern Syria. Turkey is currently experiencing economic, political and social crises at home and abroad,” the statement said and continued:
“However, the fascist AKP-MHP government is trying to extend its rule by committing genocides against peoples, denying their existence and violating human rights.
The attack carried out by the fascist invading Turkish state yesterday reveals its denial of the democratic system project introduced by the Democratic Autonomous Administration and its intolerance towards the impact of the project on the region and the world. The Turkish state attacked Kobanê with a drone yesterday, killing two civilians. We consider the ongoing Turkish attacks against the will of the people of north-eastern Syria as a terrorist and barbaric act planned by the special war forces of Turkey. Those who cooperate with them and provide them weapons are accomplices to this massacre. They want to destroy the security and stability of the region and our will.
We hold the International Coalition and Russia responsible for the crimes against the will of our people and the air strike on Kobanê. It should be known that Turkey poses threats not only against the Kurds, but also against the achievements and will of the peoples in the region. For this very reason, we should adopt a national and honourable stance against threats.”
