In the city of Kobanê, the stronghold of resistance in Rojava, thousands of people marched for the physical freedom of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Thousands of people took to the streets in the northern Syrian city of Kobanê on Monday and staged a march under the motto 'Physical Freedom of Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan] is the Guarantee of Democratic Society'.
The march which started at the Jina Azad (Free Woman) Square in the city center, was followed by a rally at Aşitiyê Square (Peace Square).
Addressing the crowd, Mistefa Êto, one of the executives of the Assembly of Martyrs' Families in the Euphrates Canton, stated that in the sensitive process the Middle East is going through, a solution can only be reached with the ideas of Abdullah Öcalan.
Êto said, “Leader Apo is fighting for the freedom of all peoples. We must embrace his ideas and fight for his physical freedom. He can come up with a solution to all problems, and this is only possible through his physical freedom. That is why we must increase the struggle and resistance.”
The rally ended with the slogan “Bê Serok Jiyan Nabe” [No Life Without the Leader].
