Tribespeople in Manbij staged a march to protest the invasion attacks of the Turkish state.
Notables and members of the tribes in Manbij city staged a protest march on Tuesday with banners reading "No to war and forced displacement" and "Tribes in Manbij say no to war."
Following the march to Meseb Junction, a notable from the El-Bobene tribe, Xalid El-Ecur, delivered a short speech on behalf of the tribes and announced that they rejected the invasion attacks and threats of the Turkish state. “We love life and resistance and we do not accept insults and unfairness,” El-Ecur said.
“After 10 years of instability in Syria, the Turkish state is still attempting to disrupt the security and stability of Syria and North and East Syria,” he added.
El-Ecur pointed out that, “The Turkish state keeps waging wars against the peoples in North-East Syria, sometimes by reducing water flow and sometimes by damaging the historical artifacts of the occupied regions. Most recently, it is trying to pit Syrians against each other by returning the Syrian refugees.”
“We, as the Syrian people, are combatants and will adopt a strong stance against Turkish aggression. We took to the streets in Manbij today to announce that this land is the land of our ancestors,” El-Ecur remarked.
“I call on those who joined the Free Army to leave the Turkish army. Do not be tricked by the counter-plans of the Turkish state. Unite to expel the invaders,” said a notable from the Beni Seîd tribe, İbrahim Şelaş.
