Turkey escalates attacks against North-East Syria

Turkey continues its airstrikes on the autonomous region of northern and eastern Syria after the Foreign Minister declared on Wednesday that the entire infrastructure was a "legitimate" target of the security forces, the army and the intelligence service.

Turkey continues its airstrikes on the autonomous region of northern and eastern Syria. A car was bombed in the neighborhood of Mişêrfa in Heseke. According to initial reports, the attack resulted in casualities, while exact details are not yet available.

On the other hand, Turkish Air Force carried out a strike in the vicinity of the Waşokanî camp. The camp was founded by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) for displaced people after the Turkish occupation of Serêkaniyê (Ras al-Ain) in 2019 and has been the target of attacks before.

Meanwhile, Turkish jets targeted the district of Çilaxa on Thursday. According to reports, the attack was directed against a dam in the region.

The village of Til Hebeş near Amûdê was also bombed, with deaths and injuries reported. A drone attack targeted the village of Tewila in Til Temir.

The Turkish state has been systematically attacking inhabited settlements and infrastructure in northern Syria for a long time. In recent years, dozens of civilians have been killed in the targeted attacks. Now, however, the Turkish government has openly announced that it will commit war crimes. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan declared on Wednesday that the entire infrastructure was a "legitimate" target of the security forces, the military and the intelligence service.
