Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Turkish-backed factions continue clamping down on Afrin’s people through thefts and looting public and private properties in Afrin city and countryside, in order to force the civilians to leave their areas as a part of the systematic policy which the factions follow.
In this context, Syrian Observatory cited reliable sources as informing that the “Samarqand Brigade”, which is in control of Haj Qasem village of Mabata district, blackmails locals in the area through the village’s mukhtar who invites them to a meeting, then asks them to pay sums of money in return for protecting their properties.
Meanwhile, armed group “Shuhadaa Al-Sfirah”, affiliated to the Turkish-backed faction “Sultan Murad”, issued a decision preventing the locals of Deir Suran village of Shera district from plowing lands and olive fields belonging to their relatives who had been forcibly displaced from the village after Turkish-backed factions captured it.
In relevant context, the armed group of “Al-Amshat” operating under the banner of “Suleiman Shah” which controls the Sheikh Hadid town in Afrin countryside, arrested a singer of sha’abi music from Qarmatlaq. The singer was released later after paying a sum of money, SOHR said.
