Turkish Intelligence Services (MIT) kidnapped a Kurdish doctor in the Turkish-occupied region of Afrin.
According to Afrin sources testifying on condition of anonymity for security reasons, anaesthesiologist Mohammad Sheikho was kidnapped by MIT on August 1 in Afrin.
"He was kidnapped for having previously worked in the Avrin hospital," the same sources said.
Pro-Turkish mercenaries have occupied Afrin since 2018 and have previously reportedly threatened him as he had worked in Avrin hospital before Turkey's occupation of the region. Apparently, they demanded a ransom of 8,000 dollars.
To date, it has not been possible to obtain any information on the whereabouts of the anaesthesiologist, nor on his health.
