20 years old Beha El Elî and another youngster from Damascus who was accompanying him attempted to cross the border into Northern Kurdistan through Til Xenzir village of Serêkaniyê Monday morning.

The two youths were captured, then detained and tortured by soldiers of the invading Turkish army.

Beha El Elî had his hand broken and the other young Syrian got injured on the head and feet as a result of the torture they suffered at the hands of Turkish soldiers who then threw the two Syrians into the other side of the border.

Inhabitants of the village were also targeted by the fire of Turkish soldiers as they wanted to go to the scene to help the injured youths.

The injured Syrian youths remained at the border with injuries for a long while as nobody could approach them due to the Turkish soldiers opening fire on anyone who attempted to move towards them.

An elderly woman named Zehra Mihemed managed to reach the youths and helped them reach YPG fighters who then rushed the injured young men to Serêkaniyê’s Roj Hospital for treatment. Hospital officials stated that the youths have been treated and are recovering.
