Since last Sunday, the Turkish military has attacked the northern Syrian cantons Girê Spî and Kobanê. Protests are taking place almost everywhere in the region and in Europe. Numerous civil society institutions and political parties have condemned the attacks. The Manbij Turkmen Association has also strongly criticized the attacks of the Turkish army.
A statement by the association said:
"As Turkmen people and the association of the Turkmens in Manbij, we condemn the attacks of the Turkish state on the peoples of Syria and their country. Villages in which the inhabitants have lived in safety so far are being attacked. The purpose of the attacks is to disturb the peace of the people of northern Syria. We call on the international community and human rights organizations to oppose the attacks and atrocities committed by the Turkish state against our people.”
