Two SDF fighters killed in ISIS attack in Deir ez-Zor laid to rest

Farewell to SDF fighters Elî El Elêwî and Mihemed El Receb who lost their lives as a result of an ISIS attack in Deir ez-Zor's eastern countryside on 10 May.

Three fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fell as martyrs and seven others were wounded as the result of an attack by an Islamic State suicide bomber driving a Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED). The attack was carried out on 10 May in the town of Al-Shahil, Deir ez-Zor's eastern countryside.

SDF fighters Elî El Elêwî and Mihemed El Receb were laid to rest following a ceremony at the Cemetery of Martyrs in Shaddadi on Monday.

Speaking at the ceremony attended by SDF fighters and the residents of Shaddadi, Ewde Hisên, Co-Chair of the Martyrs' Families Assembly, stated that the forces of North and East Syria will resist all conspiracies against the people and that they are ready to sacrifice more for this cause lives if necessary.

Mihemed El Idêb, Member of Shaddadi Military Relations Office, expressed his condolences to the martyrs' families and emphasised that they will increase the struggle.

After the speeches, Elî El El Elêwî and Mihemed El Receb's martyrdom certificates were read and handed over to their families.

At the end of the ceremony, the two martyrs were laid to rest with chants and slogans such as "Şehîd Namirin" (Martyrs are immortal).
