Two senior ISIS members eliminated in SDF-Coalition operations in Deir ez-Zor

Two SDF-Coalition security operations in Deir ez-Zor resulted in the elimination of two senior terrorists of ISIS.

As part of anti-ISIS operations, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) conducted on the 16th of February two security operations against ISIS cells in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

According to the SDF Press Office, the first operation was conducted by SDF Anti-terrorism Units (YAT) with the support and participation of the international coalition forces. It targeted Mohannad Al-Sari Al-Fadgham, who was involved in assassination crimes against SDF forces.

“Our forces raided the place where he was hiding in the al-Sabha area, Deir Ezzor’s eastern countryside. Refusing to answer the call for safe surrender, he clashed with our forces, who responded professionally and killed him.

“In the second operation, our SDF units and the coalition forces conducted an aerial drop against a senior terrorist of ISIS called Hamza al-Homsi, who was hiding in the village of al-Hijna in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. The terrorist refused to answer the call for safe surrender and detonated himself, wounding four Coalition forces,” reported the SDF Press Office on Saturday.

During the two operations, several weapons and military equipment were confiscated, including:

  • AK-47 rifle: 1
  • AK-47 magazines: 3
  • Military quivers:1
  • Smartphone: 1
