Two Syrian SU-24 planes downed in Idlib

An armed unmanned aerial vehicle of the Turkish state and two SU-24 jets of the Syrian regime have been downed in Idlib countryside on Sunday.

The Turkish army and allied mercenaries have downed two Syrian planes. Syrian state agency SANA has also confirmed the reports, saying that the pilots parachuted out of the planes and are in good state of health.

A statement by the Turkish Ministry of Defense said on Sunday; “Two SU-24 jets of the regime were downed after attacking our jets. An air-defense system, which downed a Turkish armed drone, and two other air-defense systems were also destroyed.”

Earlier today, an armed unmanned aerial vehicle of the Turkish state was shot down in the Saraqeb town in Idlib countryside.

While the Turkish state agency claimed that the downed aircraft belonged to Syria or Russia, Russian Defense Ministry refuted the report which was deleted afterwards.

The statement of Turkish Defense Ministry has thus proved the downed aircraft to be Turkey’s.
