Syria vowed to shot down any aircraft to violate the closed airspace.
The Turkish army and allied mercenaries have allegedly downed a fighter jet of the Syrian army in Saraqeb town of Idlib.
On the other hand, Syrian news agency SANA reported that a drone of the Turkish army has been shot down after entering the Syrian airspace.
Turkish state agency AA claimed that the downed aircraft was a Russian jet but deleted the news shortly after publication.
While Turkish-backed mercenaries alleged that an ait L-39 Albatros jet of the Syrian regime has been shot down, other sources, however, report that the downed aircraft was an Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicle of Russian forces.
ANF sources in the region say that the downed aircraft is an armed unmanned aerial vehicle of the Turkish state.
While the downed aircraft has not been identified yet, Syrian government has announced that the entire airspace in the northwest of the country has been closed and any aircraft to act in breach of it will be shot down.
