The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) arrived in northeast Syria on Wednesday.
The delegation accompanied by a pastor from the Evangelical Church in Nashville, Tennessee, arrived in Raqqa to hold a meeting with officials from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.
The members of the delegation held a meeting with the representatives of the Yazidi House and the Afrin Yazidi Union as well as the Jazira Yazidi House in Amûdê, province of Qamishlo.
USCIRF Vice President Nadine Menza and the accompanying delegation were welcomed by the Yazidi House co-chairs Faruq Tozo and Leyla Mehbu, Afrin Yazidi Union co-chair Mustafa Nebo and Yazidi Assembly members.
During the meeting, topics such as the situation of the Yazidi people in the region after the Syrian crisis, their organization and co-existence with other components were discussed.
The US delegation will meet faith representatives in North and East Syria, as part of its trip.
