Kongra Star has prepared a project for the establishment of a vegetable market in order to support the women of Afrin in Shehba district and camps.
The committee named by Kongra Star determined 5 villages for the market project. Vegetable sales will initially take place in the villages of Fafîn, Babinis, Til Şiîr, Til Qirah and Til Sosîn.
In order to ensure women's economic freedom, women who have financial difficulties will be employed in the vegetable market.
Kongra Star Coordination member Hesna Hesen told ANHA: “We will work in coordination with the Agriculture Committee. They will bring the summer vegetables to the market of Ehdas at 6 am every day. Afterwards, these vegetables will be distributed to the 5 determined villages. In addition to selling vegetables in the market, all kinds of molasses and dry summer vegetables, jam, pepper and tomato paste, pickle varieties will also be sold."
Noting that measures will be taken to comply with the rules to contain the coronovirus outbreak, Hesna Hesen added that they have agreed with the Municipal Committee to clean the market place and to arrange a suitable place. Hesen said that the vegetable market will be opened after the Eid al-Adha, from 7 am to 7 pm and 60 women will work in it.
