Yesterday Kobanê, today Afrin

It was Kobanê yesterday, today it is Afrin. Those who revolt today against the invading Turkish state in Afrin, are the same who fought against the Islamic State (IS) in Kobanê. Kobanê's people are fully aware of this and wholeheartedly support the resistance of Afrin.
It is something else to follow an event only by hearsay than to have experienced the whole thing yourself. That's why everyone in Kobanê was on the street on World Afrin Day. Afrin and Kobanê became one. Just as on November 1, 2014, protests was held all over the world, so it is now a duty for Afrin to stand up.
What counts is the will of the people. After all, there are far too many examples of war on the world map. Therefore, the people of Afrin can say today: "We have won because we have kept our strong will. We have say to the occupiers, NO! Get out of here!”
The memories of this time in Kobanê are still very much alive with the inhabitants. At that time they also told IS: "We do not tolerate you here. You may be able to occupy our land, but you can never break our will."
ANF spoke to Fatma Oso from Kobanê and she said, "Even Kobanê was destroyed and had to sacrifice many heroes. But in the end Kobanê has won. And that's exactly how Afrin will win. The occupiers cannot stay forever, one day they have to get out of here."
Fatma Oso, aged 55, expressed her feelings as follows: "The world should not now close its eyes and ears to Erdoğan's invading power. Erdoğan gathers terrorists around him and uses them to plunder and destroy."
She also warned the Kurds working together with Erdoğan: "Enough. Now the cards are on the table, who makes common cause with whom. They should go back to the right path and get out of Erdogan's embrace."
