YPG released a balance sheet of attacks by the occupying Turkish army and affiliated gangs on Rojava Kurdistan and Northern Syria for the last 7 days, and reported an increase in attacks and provocations.
People's Defense Units (YPG) Press Office issued a balance sheet on attacks and violations of the occupying Turkish army and its affiliated gangs on Rojava lands for the past 7 days.
The statement stressed that, "Attacks and provocations of the Turkish state and affiliated gangs against Rojava Kurdistan have reached new proportions and resulted in more intense clashes in the last week", and announced the following details on the last 7 days of attacks by the occupying Turkish army and allied gangs:
"On 22.07.2017, surveillance aircraft of the Turkish army flew over Ayn Deqna and Maranez. On the same day, covert attacks were planned by the gangs on Hill Baz which were noticed by our forces. Following clashes that erupted upon the response of our forces, the gangs fled the area.
On 23.07.2017, The Turkish army and affiliated gangs shelled the villages of Ayn Daqna, Şêwerxa and Baflonê in Efrin's Sera district with howitzers and DShK weapons, and attacked also Hill Qestele with BKC machine guns. On the same day at between the hours of 17.00 and 19.00, surveillance aircraft of the Turkish army scouted over Efrîn Canton in the region between Shera and Mabeta districts.
On 24.07.2017, the Turkish army and its affiliated gang groups conducted bombardments with tanks, howitzers and mortars targeting the villages of Ayn Daqna, Maranez, El Qamiyê and Baflonê.
On the same day, gang groups shelled Hill Baz and Gill Barin in Efrin's Cindirese district with mortars. Surveillance aircraft of the Turkish army scouted over Shiye district of Efrîn, while Turkish soldiers opened fire on the Hamame village in Cindirese district and Senare village in Shiye district. The fierce and immediate response of our forces left a vehicle of the Turkish army damaged, but clear details on the casualties inflicted here could not be obtained.
On 26.07.2017, gangs affiliated to the Turkish army attacked Hill Martyr Silan in Efrin's Cindirese district and the village of Basufane in Sherewa district with DShK weapons. On the same day, the Turkish army and affiliated gangs shelled the regions of Qitme, Xedamat, Hill Qestele, Baflon, Maranez and Ayn Daqna in Efrin's Shera district with mortars.
On 28.07.2017, surveillance aircraft of the Turkish army scouted over Hill Qestele in Efrin's Shera district while gangs affiliated to the Turkish army shelled the hill with DShK weapons.
On 29.07.2017, the villages of Marazkê, Xedamat, Maranez, Malikiyê and Berada Malikiye in Efrin's Shera district, as well as the district center was shelled with howitzers and mortars, while Hill Martyr Silan was bombed with DShK weapons.
Intense clashes broke out between our forces and gangs affiliated to the Turkish army in the fronts of Maranez, El Qamiyê Vîla Qadî and Ayn Daqna in Efrin's Sera district, and the villages of Başemrê and Basûfanê inEfrin's Sherawa district, and the village of Iska, Hill Baz, Hill Barin and Hill Martyr Silan in Efrin's Cindirese district. Details could not be obtained regarding the killed and wounded gang members.
On 30.07.2017, gangs affiliated to the Turkish army shelled Efrin's Basûfanê village in Sherawa district and Hill Martyr Şilan in Cindirese district with DShK weapons. These attacks of the gangs were instantly responded by our forces. On the same day, the gangs shelled also the village of Ayn Daqna in Efrin's Shera district with howitzers."
