YPG releases weekly report on Turkish attacks against Rojava
YPG Press Office released a weekly report about attacks and border violations in Afrin Canton by Turkey. According to the report, a refugee from Raqqa was killed by the Turkish army.
The 7-day balance sheet announced by the YPG Press Office is as follows:
"On 01.09.2017, a surveillance aircraft of the gangs allied to the Turkish army was targeted and shot down by our forces as it flew over YPG controlled territory.
On 02.09.2017, gangs affiliated with the Turkish army attacked Barîn and Baz Hills in Cindirês district with DShK weapons and B7 rockets. YPG positions in Baflon Hill in Efrîn Canton's Shera district were also attacked with DShK fire and mortars. One of our fighters fell a martyr as a result of the bombardments.
On 03.09.2017, Baz, Barîn and Dêrbelût Hills in Cindirês district, Baflon Hill in Shera district and the villages of Basûfan and Bircikê Silêman in Efrîn Canton's Shera district were attacked by gangs affiliated with the Turkish army. Our forces responded the attacks of the gangs, but details on their casualties could not be obtained.
On the same day, when a group of the gangs attempted to build new military emplacements near Maranêz village in Efrîn Canton's Shera district, our forces noticed them and responded with BKC fire. The gangs retreated and abandoned building of new emplacements.
On 04.09.2017, gangs affiliated with the Turkish army attacked Basûfan village in Shêrawa district with DShK fire and mortars. Baz and Barîn Hills in Cindirês district and Belûniye village in Efrîn Canton's Shera district were also attacked.
At the same time, surveillance aircraft were flying over Cindirês region. Our forces responded to all attacks of the gangs.
At 16.30 on 05.09.2017, gangs allied to the Turkish army attacked Basûfan village in Shêrawa district. Our forces responded the attacks of the gangs at the same time.
On 06.09.2017, gangs affiliated with the Turkish army attacked Basûfan village in Shêrawa district with mortars. The gangs attacked Belûniyê, Ayn Daqna villages and Qestelê Hill in Shera district with DShK fire and howitzers. At the same time, Baxtiyar Hill and Batman Hill in Efrîn Canton's Cindirês district were attacked.
On the same day at 15.30, Turkish soldiers shot and killed a civilian from Raqqa's village Esediyê near the border near Xizêla village in Girê Spî district. The body of the killed civilian has been recovered by our forces and taken to his family."
