Investigation against arrested women politicians over Afrin

An investigation has been launched against HDP and DBP’s arrested women politicians for going on a hunger strike for Afrin.

Women politicians held hostage in the Kandıra Type F Prison No.1 had gone on a 3 day hunger strike in protest of the Turkish state’s invasion attacks against Afrin. The Kandıra Type F Prison No.1 Resident Prosecutor has launched an investigation against them.

The women politicians who went on the hunger strike are: HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) Co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ, HDP Deputy Co-chair Aysel Tuğluk, HDP MPs Çağlar Demirel, Burcu Çelik Özkan and Gülser Yıldırım, DBP (Democratic Regions’ Party) Co-chair Sebahat Tuncel, DBP Co-mayors Gültan Kışanak and Nurhayat Altun and former Dersim Mayor Edibe Şahin.
