JinNews: Men killed at least 24 women in March

According to JinNews’ monthly repor on violence against women, at least 24 women and 4 children were murdered in March.

JinNews released its monthly report on violence against women. In March, at least 24 women and four children were murdered in a month, while 14 women and one child lost their lives under suspicious circumstances.

According to the March report, the highest number of femicides occurred in Istanbul (4), followed by Amed and Tekirdağ with 3 femicides each.

The other cities were listed as follows: 2 femicides in Izmir, 2 in Aydin, 1 in Kutahya, 1 in Sirnex, 1 in Samsun, 1 in Agiri, 1 in Merdin, 1 in Konya, 1 in Antalya, 1 in Mersin, 1 in Karaman and 1 in Corum.

According to the report, while the relationship of 5 women to the perpetrator could not be determined, 8 women were killed by their husbands, 2 women by ex-husbands, 2 women by men they were in the process of divorce from, 1 woman by the man she was in a relationship with, 3 women by ex-boyfriends, 2 women by men they knew, and 1 woman by her father.
