KJK: Women have the power to change!

KJK called on all women, the people, Kurdish youth, young women to 'STAND UP FOR CHANGE AND FREEDOM!' and invited all to join the demonstrations on 8 March.

Kurdistan Women’s Communities (KJK) Coordination said on the occasion of March 8, International Working Women's Day: "There is a big potential to change in women who have been on the forefront all over the world and have managed to get up."

In its written statement, KJK stressed that women can produce change by enlarging the organized struggle at a universal level, and that the opportunities and conditions of creating women's confederalism and internationalism have become more visible.

The statement said: "We welcome another 8 March of struggle and commemorates our heroic women martyrs who pay the price for this cause, which always keeps alive the fire of freedom by not submitting to the cruel male civilization forces all over the world.

We commemorate the martyrs of freedom with respect and gratitude, and we reiterate the promise that we will keep their memories alive by achieving a free life.

As Kurdistan Women's Freedom Movement, we respectfully greet Leader Apo, who made a great theoretical and practical effort in the struggle for women's freedom. He shares a unique companionship with women on the basis of freedom and has been held in the conditions of absolute isolation and torture for 22 years. Our struggle will continue until the conditions of captivity and absolute isolation are eliminated and his freedom ensured."

The statement continued: "Today, Middle Eastern movements, peoples and women are engaged as serious actors in solving the world crisis. Women have played a role in the revolution of North-east Syria. Women are more likely to play their role as the shapers of the era of democratic civilization in the Middle East solution. The oppressed peoples will be able to build democratic modernity by establishing a non nation-state political government with their rich culture. The men's paradigm is in bankruptcy. The women's libertarian paradigm could be more understandable. As women, we will build our freedom by defending life against war and destruction."

Call to women

The statement added: "We call on all women, our people, Kurdish youth, young women to 'STAND UP FOR CHANGE AND FREEDOM!' and invite all to join the demonstrations on 8 March. On the basis of the Democratic National Women's Union in Kurdistan, we must take to the streets with the spirit of resistance against isolation and fascism on 8 March.

We believe that all women will turn into a flood of anger in all their fields on this occasion and will manifest their stance against the global capitalist system. Kurdish women, leading the democratic, ecological and women's libertarian paradigm in Kurdistan, will play their role and succeed as the leading force of the Democratic Middle East Women's Union."
