Kurdish female lawyer and activist sentenced to 6 years and 7 months in prison in Iran

Sine (Sanandaj) Revolutionary Court sentenced human rights activist and lawyer Gulale Wetendust to 6 years, 7 months and 20 days in prison on charges of 'propaganda against the regime', 'harming national security' and 'membership in opposition forces'.

Gulale Wetendust is a well-known lawyer and women's rights activist from Merîwan, East Kurdistan.
