Kurdish women living in Reims participated in the letter campaign launched by the European Kurdish Women’s Movement and sent letters to the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) to ask it to send a delegation to Imrali. The women demanded freedom for People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and an end of the absolute isolation he is subjected to.
As part of the campaign, women collected hundreds of signed letters, took them to the Reims Central Post Office and sent them.
The letters said that immediate intervention was required to end the absolute lack of communication from Abdullah Öcalan. The women said: “Reber Apo is the will of the people and women. We will not give up fighting for the physical freedom of our leadership under all circumstances and conditions."
