Peace in Kurdistan issued a statement to pay tribute to Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez.

The statement said: "Peace in Kurdistan stands in solidarity with all our Kurdish friends and supporters who are commemorating the 11th anniversary of the terrible assassinations of Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez.

These three women represented some of the best examples of Kurdish female activism that has ever been produced by the Kurdish movement led by Abdullah Ocalan. Since their brutal deaths, they have become role models for Kurds everywhere, and they live on as inspiration for future generations. "

Peace in Kurdistan added: "The precise circumstances that led up to their targeted triple assassination still need to be fully investigated and the truth of what happened on that fateful night in Paris needs to come out.

PIK honours the memory of these three exceptional Kurdish women by redoubling the efforts to achieve the peace and freedom that became their life’s work.

Sakine, Fidan and Leyla gave their lives for the liberation of their people and nation, and they will never be forgotten."
