Seyfi Zoğurlu told the PKK Congress that a new and tougher struggle is beginning.
Seyfi Zoğurlu, one of the delegates at the 12th Congress of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), said that President Öcalan will lead the PKK to even greater victories. He said: "This is a congress of dissolution, but dissolving ourselves does not mean dispersing or disappearing. We are not vanishing."
The 12th Congress of the PKK was held between May 5 and 7 in the Medya Defense Zones. Its decisions were shared with the public on May 12. Delegate Seyfi Zoğurlu spoke at the congress, which was convened after President Öcalan’s February 27 call for peace and a democratic society, and said:
"First and foremost, I send my greetings and love to President Öcalan. I commemorate the great martyr comrades Comrade Fuat, Rıza, Sara, and all the martyrs of the struggle. President Öcalan raised this people from the brink of annihilation to this level. From within four walls, he devised strategies that foiled the conspiracies of both the enemy and international powers. President Öcalan always treated the current stage as a foundation for advancing the struggle, and he brought us closer to victory.
From within four walls, he devised strategies that foiled the conspiracies of both the enemy and international powers. If we look at the Turkish media, it is portrayed as though the PKK has been defeated and can no longer wage war. They are trying to reverse the process. But there is one truth. And what is it? Through the efforts of President Öcalan and the struggle of the PKK, the Kurdish people have gained willpower. The assurance of the Freedom Movement, of Kurdish freedom, and of everyone’s freedom lies in the weapons we hold. This is a power organized according to the paradigm of President Öcalan. Our stance on the question of disarmament is framed within this context. Fundamental legal principles must be secured. We must insist on such steps.
President Öcalan presents us with alternatives. A new phase has begun for us. The struggle we are about to enter is more difficult. In the political, ideological, and diplomatic fields, as well as in efforts to build the future, a more challenging process lies ahead. We must prepare ourselves accordingly, plan accordingly, and build our strategy accordingly. Yes, this is a congress of dissolution. But when we dissolve ourselves, we are not dispersing into nothing, we are not disappearing. We were followers of the Apoist line even before the PKK was founded, and we remain Apoists today. In this regard, I too have unwavering faith. President Öcalan’s strength, knowledge, and ethics have rescued the PKK from many difficult situations. This time as well, he will crown the PKK with even greater victories."
