3rd Martyr Bawer Heavy Festival stars in Kobanê

The 3rd Martyr Bawer Heavy Festival started in Kobanê on Wednesday.

The 3rd Martyr Bawer Heavy Festival, organized by the Euphrates Region Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement, started at the Free Women's Square in Kobanê city centre. Hundreds of citizens from the Kobanê Canton attended the festival.

The slogan of the festival is: "We will grow the revolutionary culture with the self-sacrificing spirit of the guerrillas, we will ensure Leader Apo's freedom".

Northern and Eastern Syria Sports and Youth Board deputy Jînda Yusif said: “They conspired against Leader Abdullah Öcalan. They continued the conspiracy to strike a blow to the Democratic Autonomous project, they occupied our lands."

Yusif added that there has been a massacre against Kurds for a century and noted that the Kurds are standing today thanks to the ideas and philosophy of Leader Abdullah Öcalan. "There are thousands of young people in the Kurdistan Freedom Movement who sacrifice their lives for our safety. Therefore, as long as the guerrillas resist the Turkish occupation on the mountains of Kurdistan, there is no danger for the Kurds."

The festival, where groups from Raqqa, Manbij and Kobanê will present their works, will end this evening.

Martyr Ahmet Akyüz (Bawer Agir) was killed in the village of Hiwêce in Girê Spî while fighting against the invading Turkish state on 13 October 2019.
