Artist Yelda Abbasi was detained at Atatürk airport on Thursday night.

The artist was in Istanbul to partecipate to the celebration for the 27th anniversary of the Mezopotamya Kultur Merkez (MKM), Mesopotamia Cultural Centre.

On Sunday 9 December the MKM will organise an event at the Bostancı Show Center. Artist Yelda Abbasi came to Turkey to join the celebration of the important institution.

No reason for the detention of Abbasi was given. It has been learned that she was with her mother.
