A group of intellectuals and artists went on a hunger strike in support of the Grup Yorum members, who turned their hunger strike into a death fast. They are demanding an end to pressure on their performances and activities.
Artists and intellectuals have began a daily hunger strike. The first name to start the support fast was artist Pınar Aydınlar.
She started her fast alongside Helin Bölek, a member of Grup Yorum who has been on death fast for 247 days. Bölek is carrying out her death fast at the Resistance House in Sarıyer after her release from prison.
Writer Temel Demirer will take over the solidarity hunger strike today.
