Kurdish director and writer Sadik Samerei was taken into custody on Wednesday, following a raid on his home in Kermanshah, in Rojhilat. No explanation was given as to why Samerei was detained.

Filmmaker Samerei, who mostly focuses on religion and culture in Kurdistan, directed some short documentaries, such as "Şamaran" and "Banmeli".
