The “Tour de Lorraine Festival”, organized in Switzerland as an alternative to the World Economic Forum, kicked off in Bern. Kurdish activists also took part in the festival.
The “Tour de Lorraine Festival” was first held in Bern in 2000 during protests against the World Economic Forum (WEF) and neoliberal globalisation.
In this annual solidarity and resistance festival, many topics such as climate crisis, economic crisis, global warming, wars, human rights, women's rights, gender problems and refugee’s problems are discussed.
Kurds were represented on the panel "War and Peace", which included activists and politicians from many peoples such as Kurdistan, Nigeria, Turkey, South Africa and Lebanon.
The festival continued with the presentations where activists, artists, politicians and scientists from different nations shared their experiences during times of war and peace.
The “Tour de Lorraine Festival” will continue until 30 April 30.
