Autonomous Administration reaches agreement with Damascus regime on joint mechanism for al-Hol Camp

The Democratic Autonomous Administration has reached an agreement with the Damascus regime on a joint mechanism for the evacuation of Syrian families from al-Hol Camp back to their regions.

Şêxmûs Ahmed, Head of the Refugee Affairs Office of the Social Affairs Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria, said that delegations from the Damascus regime and the International Coalition, as well as representatives of the Democratic Autonomous Administration met at al-Hol Camp.

Ahmed said that during the meeting, an agreement was reached on a joint mechanism to organize the evacuation of Syrian families and facilitate their return to their regions in order to alleviate the difficulties and burdens of the camp.

Ahmed emphasized that the Autonomous Administration will support everyone who wishes to return to their regions, noting that this humanitarian issue is among the top priorities and that they attach great importance to it, distancing it from political concerns.

This step is part of the efforts to ensure stability and security in al-Hol Camp in Northern and Eastern Syria and to improve the humanitarian conditions of Syrian families. Part of al-Hol Camp, known as one of the most dangerous camps in the world, houses families of ISIS militants.
