Journalist Karakoç taken into custody by Dutch police

Journalist Serdar Karakoç, who has been in exile in the Netherlands for 23 years, was taken into custody by the Dutch police upon the request of the German state. Karakoç will be brought before a court today.

Journalist Serdar Karakoç, who worked in the Free media for many years, was the Izmir representative of the Özgür Gündem newspaper and the manager of the Istanbul head office in the 1990s. He was one of the journalists in the building during the Özgür Ülke bombing on 3 December 1994.

Karakoç was taken into custody by Dutch police on Thursday.

It was reported that Karakoç, who was detained due to Germany's extradition request, will appear before the judge today.
