The Coalition For Women In Journalism condemned the arrest of six journalists in Turkey on Friday.
The Coalition For Women In Journalism issued a statement condemning the arrest of six journalists in Turkey on Friday.
The statement said: "Police detained five [by Friday evening they were six] journalists: Reyhan Hacıoğlu (Van), Rahime Karvar, Necla Demir, Welat Ekin and Ahmet Güneş (Istanbul) - in Friday morning raids on their homes and media offices.
Officers threatened them and seized digital materials, while production offices Martı and Güncel in Istanbul were searched for hours.
This crackdown is part of a growing pattern of systematic repression, with the Kurdish press facing relentless persecution. Women Press Freedom condemns these detentions and demands their immediate and unconditional release."
