Police forces raided the office of Özgür Radio and detained the employees.
Within the scope of the ongoing crackdown on media outlets, police forces raided the office of Özgür Radio, one of the 23 opposition radio and television networks closed by RTÜK (Radio and Television Supreme Council) in line with a Statutory Decree issued during the State of Emergency that began following the coup attempt of July 15.
On arriving at the radio station in Istanbul's Kadıköy district, Security and Financial Department police accompanied by RTÜK officials said they came there just to seal the broadcast room and there would be no detentions.
As the radio authorities refused to open the door and insisted on continuing the broadcast, police forces closed the street to traffic and broke the door of the office to get inside. The radio employees were later battered and taken into custody.
