The Freedom for Ill Prisoners Initiative held their weekly press conference at the Human Rights Association (IHD) Ankara Branch to draw attention to the condition of ill prisoners.
In the 294th week of the action, the condition of the ill prisoner Yusuf Öğmen, who is in Aydın Söke Open Prison, was underlined.
IHD member Avni Kalkan said that Öğmen has been suffering from MS for 40 years and is 40 percent disabled.
Kalkan said: "Öğmen cannot even carry out the simplest of needs. When there is nobody who brings food, wash his clothes, take him to the television room, he stays in bed."
IHD member Avni Kalkan said that Yusuf Öğmen should be released as soon as possible.
