Members of the Human Rights Association (IHD) Istanbul Branch Prison Commission continued to draw attention to the situation of ill prisoners with their F sit-in action.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 424th action was held on social media. The statement made by IHD executive Hatice Onaran drew attention to the situation of Ismail Yılmaz, a seriously ill prisoner.
Onaran said that 67-year-old Yılmaz, who was sentenced to life imprisonment after he was arrested in 2004, is currently staying in Kandira No. 1 F-Type Prison. Yilmaz, who suffered from a heart disease, also suffered a brain hemorrhage on April 28, was hospitalized and operated one day later."

IHD members in Izmir also used to make their press statements in front of Sümerbank every week with the slogan of "Freedom for ill prisoners". However due to the coronavirus pandemic the action is being done over the internet.
In this week's statement, attention was drawn to the situation of Hüseyin Sarı, 62, who has been in prison since 1994.
IHD Izmir Branch executive Ahmet Cicek said that despite the report of the association listing the problems of quite a high number of prisoners, no one has been released so far.
Hüseyin Sarı is in Manisa-Akhisar T Tipi Prison and is suffering from various health problems, such as diseases joint disease, flattening of the neck, muscle weakness, narrowing between discs, hypertroidal modular goiter discomfort, asthma, intestinal-stomach ulcer, allergy, reflux, edema, hypertension.
