Lawyers of the People's Law Office and lawyers from various bar associations gathered in front of the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan in solidarity with lawyers Ebru Timtik and Aytaç Ünsal, who are on death fast in prison, demanding a fair trial.

"This is a country where murderers and criminals are protected and those who expose these crimes are imprisoned," said Aysegul Çağatay, from the People's Law Office.

The lawyers also underlined that Ünsal and Timtik are losing weight and their health is deteriorating very fast.

Aytaç is on his 131st day of death fast and Timtik on her 162nd.

Lawyers called on everyone to show solidarity with their colleagues on death fast. “If we stand together – they said – we will win.”
